What Causes Severe Loss Of Hair Along With Facial Hair?

hi there. I have a question regarding hair loss. I am a 20 year old male who smokes and have cut down and quit soon. I have noticed my hair line on my left side of the head is receding much quicker than the other side and i think it may be a type of alopecia (telogen effluvium) after doing some research. I have also noticed my beard hairs fall out when i scratch my beard or rub it and the hairs have a white bulb. regularly apply oil to my hair and beard but still hair seems to fall out.

Dear, thanks for the question.

I share your concerns. Loss of hairs at this age could be hereditary related, however in your case it seems to be infection led. Fungal infections lead to such patchy hair loss.

Ideally you need to consult a skin specialist and follow accordingly. You need to usepatientifungal shampoo (clotrimazole 2%). You can also take oral antifungal drugs your doctor's supervision. Minoxidil can also be used aftrr completion of this course. However whole recovery will take long time (be patient).

I wish you better and faster recovery.
