What Causes Severe Lower Abdominal Pain Along With Chills And Nausea?

I m having severe pressure in my lower abdomen. Chills. No fever. Feel like I have to go to bathroom but stool is very loose and separated. Can not relieve pain no matter what. Symptoms since yesterday also feel very nauseous. Also have history of diverticulitis and have had gallbladder taken out. Pain is close to that level tho.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. It seems you have infective diarrhoea. Though I would rather go with a urinary tract infection due to the severe pain. An ultrasound of the abdomen at this point will be tremendously helpful as it is always better to rule out more serious conditions then the simpler ones and prevent them from progressing by timely treatment. In the meantime, we can also get basic blood work and a stool test done. Hope this helps.

Dr Geeta
