What Causes Severe Lower Back And Hip Pain During Pregnancy?
Hi I am ashamed to admit that I am about 30 weeks along in my pregnancy and I haven t received any prenatal care. I have recently started having terrible back and hip pain. It feels as if my back is locking up and I can barely walk. I also have painful pressure on my pelvic bone and it feels very heavy. I have been told that the stress I have been under having just lost my brother tragically is causing the pain. I ve been trying to get an appointment some where but I can t get one anywhere in less than two weeks. Should I go to emergency or can I wait.
As the pregnancy advances, uterus size increases and it puts pressure on the pelvis and back which is the cause of pain and discomfort. I advise you to visit gynecologist for the antenatal check up as soon as possible.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
