What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain?

From a recent urine test it stated that there was a growth in the sample however the urine is not foul smelling and is clear. I do have a terrible pain in my back and left kidney area which is very painful especially at night - what does this mean ? I d be grateful for your interpretation of this Many thanks Bethan Thomas
