What Causes Severe Lower Left Abdominal Pain While Having Constipation?

I have been experiencing severe lower abdominal or more pelvic pain on the left side. I have been constipated for about a week. I did get a suppository from the pharmacy called Dulcolax (Canada). I did have a bowel movement today but I as still experiencing pain in the lower left side, it almost feels like my innards are going to fall out. Is this just constipation or something maybe more serious?

Hi welcome to health care magic ....

You are having left side abdominal pain....

This could be from constipation or by some infective etiology....
Colitis, diverticulitis, ovarian problem etc can be the cause.....

Here I would like to advise you to perform USG abdomen first as primary work up....

Than according to cause further specific treatment can be given...

For constipation and diverticulitis you can take ispghula husk with milk daily for few days...

Drink more water...
Non veg and excess fried food avoided...

If needed suitable antibiotic course given.

Consult physician for examination and further work up.....
