What Causes Severe Lower Leg Pain And Occasional Numbness In Feet?

My husband has severe lower leg pain. His blood test was fine & the sonogram showed no DVT. Both lower legs are painful & also occasionally, his feet go numb. Local DR gave him an anti-inflammatory medication as well as a pain medication. Would like to treat the cause, not the symptoms. Any ideas? He has had this problem for approximately one year & finally, finally, went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for blood test & sonogram. Thank you so much! Kyla

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve.

The treatment usually consists in anti inflammatory medications to treat the pain.

So,I aggre with the treatment given by yor doctor.

If the symptoms continue, I suggest to consult a neurologist for further evaluation.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
