Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A very good friend of mine was having severe lower right back pain, and went to the ER where they did an X Ray. They discharged her from the ER with prescriptions for prednisone and pain. The said that she was experiencing muscle spasm pain in her back. Today the ER called and said that another physician looked at the X Ray and saw a low density mass near her stomach, and recommended that she follow-up with her physician, and get a CT scan. I am very worried about this low density mass. What could this indicate?
Hi. Thanks for posting on hcm. From what you said I am suspecting it to be a kidney stone can be confirmed on ct scan I would suggest to go and get it done and consult the doctor. Usually most common causes of lower back pain are muscle spasm and kidney stones or infection and a very rare cause is kidney tumour. Hope this helped you. Regards
