Hello,
There are several things to consider depending upon the age of your son and the specific constellation of symptoms he is experiencing.
There are more generic problems related to vertigo and
migraine such as
viral labyrinthitis or even a straight up infection of the middle such as an
OTITIS MEDIA if the case your son is in the PEDIATRIC AGE GROUP or a SWIMMER if slightly older.
Then, there are more syndromic types of illnesses such as MENIERE'S which comes with more severe symptoms of nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, and
hearing loss.
Then, there is a headache syndrome referred to as a VERTIGINOUS MIGRAINE or some like to call it
MIGRAINOUS VERTIGO. In this condition, both vertigo and migraine coexist in the patient.
But not always TOGETHER at the same time and that's why it can be at times difficult to distinguish from other problems unless the physician has an index of suspicion that this may be going on.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
