What Causes Severe Migraine Pain And Lower Back Pain After Taking Topomax?

My husband started taking topomax two weeks ago for nerve pain in his back. He is now suffering from a non stop migraine and has severe pain in his lower back. Does he have to go to the Doctor today, or is it safe for him to take ibuprophen for his headache

Was the topomax prescribed for your husband for back pain or he himself took it?usually topomax is prescribed for preventing migraine attacks and in epilepsy.not for back pain.in case of migraine this prevents the attack, but once headache started this is not useful, but one has to take pain killers like naproxen after consulting a qualified dr. injudicious use of pain killers like ibuprofane will lead to gastric problems. topomax also has its share of side effects which the dr will weigh against the benefits of it for your symptoms before prescribing.for back pain if severe some investigations are required which can be advised after proper physical examination only.It is better your husband consults a dr immediately and get the proper treatment.
