Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Mood Swings After Using Anabolic Steroids And Oxytocin?
I just discovered that my fiancé is taking illegal anabolic steroids and oxytocin. He is also taking prescribed medications including 100mg of Vyvanse, Welbutrin, 450mg of Seroquel, Lamictal, and a host of various supplements. I am really concerned for his health and am worried about his severe mood swings. Am I overreacting?
The Vyvanse contains Lisdexamphetamine used in attention deficit hyperactivity disorders. The Wellbutrin contains Bupropion used as an anti-depressant molecule which has variety of side effects including headache, dizziness, mood changes and others. Your fiance requires to discuss the current symptoms with his treating physician for further dose adjustment of the medicines.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
