Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In the past 4 weeks I have had severe nosebleeds. Three trips to the ER. First trip they used Cocaine 4% which worked for 12 hrs. Then back to the ER. So severe that I have to put a basin under my nose even thouh I am pinching it. The clip did not do much good. Hugh clots coming out the back of my throat. The second trip to the ER they put the Rino pack in. Got home and about 12 hrs again the blood began running out the other nostral and again huge clots in the back of the throat. Back to the ER where they put more air in the Rino (horrible experience). Now I am home on the fifth day after having the initial Rino inserted. I see my ENT in three days (his only available day) to have it removed and hopefully cauterized. I am at my witts end. I am suppose to fly to London in two months. I am afraid to get on a plane because if it starts to bleed it will be just awful. What do you think? Will air travel effect the nosebleed.
It may be due to dry nose. For that you can do pinching for 10 minutes. You may require nasal packing. You can apply nasal saline drops locally. Do blood pressure monitoring and avoid Dry and humid environment.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
