What Causes Severe Nausea And Diarrhea In An Elderly Person?
My Mother 85 called this morning and she had a sudden onset of hot & cold sweats. Then nausea and feeling faint. She then had diarrhea twice quite sever then she was alright. She did lay down after for an hour or so. She said she weighted this morning and after the attack and lost almost 3lbs. She hadn t eaten anything different then usual. This is the second time this has happened. Should I be concerned?

Hello,
It may be due to gastroenteritis.
For that he may require complete hemogram, stool analysis, ultrasound abdomen after physician consultation.
You may require antibiotics after consultation.
Till then you can take tablet loperamide.
Keep him hydrated.
Take soft diet
