What Causes Severe Nerve Pain Post Back Surgery?

I had back surgery 10 days ago, the surgery consisted of the fusion of 5 lumber vertebrae with bone grafts taken from my pelvis, also the treatment of stenosis my problem is the treatment for pain they have given me for home is neurontin 300mgs once a day,metamizol 575mg to be taken every 8 hours alternating with paracetamol 1gm, the opp. pain is tolerable but the nerve pain is intolerable I might as well take smarties as the pill prescribed, I live in spain therefore my spanish isn t good enough to explain my problems, can I increase safely the dosages prescribed or would it be better to ask for different drugs yours Katie

Hello,

You may need to give more time to your body to regenerate. Have more rest and take anti-inflammatory drugs such ibuprofen or naproxen for pain and to reduce swelling.
