Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My girlfriend had a really bad nosebleed last night that we couldn t get to stop, when I got her to finally calm down enough to sit with her head back she started to choke on the blood that was draining down her throat so she sat back up and ended up having a fairly sizable blood clot come out of her nose. It was a good 2-1/2 at least. After it came out she said it felt like she was able to really breath out of her nose for the first time in a long time. She s been under a lot of stress lately with having to move and trying to find a place for her and her three kids. Any ideas if this could be a sign of something more serious.
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The causes for bleeding from nose can be any infection in the nasal cavity or trauma. The other possible cause could be any bleeding disorders like thrombocytopenia. Nothing to be panic, consult a general physician and get it evaluated. You need to get the complete blood investigations done to rule out the above mentioned conditions. I hope I have answered your query. Take care
