Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain All Over The Body Of A Person With Osteoarthritis?
Good Afternoon!!! . . . I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis but in the past week I have had severe pain all over my body!!! . . . Also previously I had a surgery on c-3 fused with c4 because of an injury!!! . . . Could all of this pain be from this surgery??? . . .
You have a history of surgery C3 & C4 fused(CDFS). Immediately after the surgery you may feel pain & discomfort, report to your treating doctor without delay & get a follow up physical examination & treatment done to manage postoperative infection if any, painful pseudoarthrosis, damage to the spinal cord or the nerve roots due to which you are experiencing severe pain all over the body.
Get all the tests & investigations done to rule out developing fibromyalgia & keep your blood sugar levels under control if you are a diabetic to avoid worsening of the condition.
You may need a cervical collar for faster recovery. Avoid taking tobacco products or NSAIDS as they interfere with the bone formation after surgery & healing process.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
