What Causes Severe Pain And Bladder Infection While Suffering From Lung Cancer?
My sister is 80 and was in good health ..she came down with lung cancer..they removed a lung and now she is in terrible pain and is having bladder infections that they are having trouble getting under control. Is this a normal bacteria infection or could it be MERSA
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of resistant bacterial infection is more in your sister's case. First of infection in Urinary bladder is not common. So cystitis is commonly caused by resistant bacteria. She is not improving with routine antibiotics. This also favours resistant bacterial infection more. Third, she is lung cancer survivor. So her immunity might be low which is causing resistant bacterial infection. So possibility of resistant bacteria like MRSA is more. So get done urine culture and sensitivity report. Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about effective antibiotic treatment. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your sister. Thanks.
