Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think I put a ear bud into my ear too far and have irritated my ear inside. It feels almost like there is water in there and it is very painful. If I giggle the ear lobe it unblocks. The ear is not bleeding but the area around my ear and face is quite swollen on the outside. What is the best approach to remedy this
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe pain and blockage in the ear which seems to be due to perforation and injury to eardrum after putting ear bud and it is leading to ear infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may examine with otoscope and order CT scan. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications if injury to ear drum is small and if it is large tympanoplasty may be advised.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
