What Causes Severe Pain And Burning Sensation In The Lower Abdominal Area?

Hello - I am experiencing pain in my lower abdomen. This has happened for a few weeks on and off. I ll be fine for days and then I drink a glass of wine with dinner and I m very uncomfortable the next morning. After drinking lots of water and a cup of coffee then having a bowel movement I feel much better. Also, after eating chili one night I woke up with the same. This round has been going on for two days now. When I eat it relieves the pain but it doesn t go away. It s a burning sensation in my lower abdomen. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take antacids like Pantoprazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and ask for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
