What Causes Severe Pain And Cramps In The Lower Abdomen?
I have had lower abdominal cramps with severe pain for the past 24 hours. I feel bloated and the urge to have a bowel movement but am unable to go. The cramps comes and go every so often. I,be taken a suppository a little over an hour ago but still nothing. I m 74 and otherwise in general good healt with previous regular bowel movements.
As your bowel movements would have caused due to indigestion. Consume more water, take ranitidine before the food to avoid such indigestion issues.
Usually taking regular Basic blood pressure and diabetic medicine if any may lead to indigestion some times not always. Also having food which is high in fibre or protein may also lead to one.
As your age it 74 there may be reduced metabolism and it can also be a cause. Doing regular exercise should help improve metabolism.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most cases of geriatric complain indigestion problem and due to this the tiredness the next day and sleepless nights.
Taking them into the geriatric rehabilitation program has helped improve the overall lifestyle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
