Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain And Discomfort In Lower Extremities And Lower Back?
I have had lower chronic back pain for many years. Recently I was in the hospital for LBP for 4 days with Medication and steroids. MRI, cat scan, and MYELOGRAM confirmed no abnormalities and I was released to Inpatient PT/OT for two weeks. I have been home now for 10 days doing the exercises for my back and legs. Today I started having lots of discomfort and pain. No pain in lower extremities, just lower back that spreads At my waistline to my sides. Any suggestions ? I am still ambulatory but have spent up to 14 days bedridden from chronic pain.
* The chronic lower back pain with normal MRI, CT scan and Myelogram is somewhat unusual case and hence odd possibilities of regional fibromyalgia, muscle or ligament spasms sort of issues which can not be picked up by relevant investigations have to be explored out thoroughly on clinical grounds.
Still, if you can provide your scan reports copies , I can further elicit the relevant information from the data and get back to you with some hopeful answers above this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
