Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain And Distention In The Abdomen?
Hello, I had severe abdominal pain. I have gotten a normal CT scan and a normal upper gi ultrasound. When my gi Doctor pushed on my abdomen the only thing that hurt was the gallbladder. My abdomen was extremely distended. I have been using stone breaker herbs and I feel about 50% better. I do feel so bloated when I eat fatty foods. I got my ultrasound today and it came back negative. I think I may have gotten rid of stones myself. I felt something drop on my right side and I think I passed a stone. I m scheduled for a pipida scan in a few days. My question is: should I cancel the lipids scan since the ultrasound came back normal? My symptoms have slightly improved. THanks in advance.
I suggest you go all the way with the scan just to be safe. Your symptoms are however also suggestive of constipation. You should probably have a colonoscopy at your convenience.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
