What Causes Severe Pain And Numbness In Right Hand And Shoulder?

I have sever pain in my right hand (full hand). Oftenly it goes numb and also fells like swelled up. My right shoulder is always numb. I cant work even my daily routien works like brushing teeth and cleaning cloths etc. my wait keeps increasing without obesity problem. Only belly region keeps gaining fat. I am married not prgnant. Please suggest something to have a pain free life in my arm.my neck also hurts cant sleep at night because of pain oftenly. I had history of allergic asthama.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain and numbness in right hand and shoulder. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis ,cervical radiculopathy , disc problem ,tendinitis , brusitis or shoulder or shoulder joint problem . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to neck back and shoulder . give proper rest to your shoulder and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon if condition is not getting well . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI of shoulder joint , back and neck . Doctor may recommend particular stretching exercises along ith physical therapy . Doctor may also recommend muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory .
