Q: Hi. For the last four weeks I have been having intermittent upper abdominal pain. Is it like a light stabbing/pressure pain which can be felt on the left side or right side, or sometimes both. It cannot be felt when pushing on the abdomen. It is not severe and is on and off throughout the day, lasting from minutes to hours but then will go away for a while. It can happen 5-8 times or more a day. I have had urine, faeces, blood tests, and an ultrasound and an abdominal CT scan. Every single one came up clear except a small issue on the CT scan. I have a diverticole but assured it is not inflamed at all (but I am currently trying antibiotics for it now). I also tried one week of Nexium, did not help. I tried three days of buscopan, did not help. The doctor advised if these antibiotics don t help, it could be adenitis and I will have to wait to see if it goes away. But it has already been happening for 4 weeks. Being that out of all the scans, only one showed a minor issue which was not inflamed, what else could this and be and how can I rid myself of it? Only bending forward sometimes seems to make it feel a bit more pronounced.
