What Causes Severe Pain And Red Blisters On Right Hip?

My husband was experiencing a terrible ache in his right hip...Then, he all of the sudden started getting red blistery rashy marks (3 of them) The doctor thought he had shingles, but his test came back today, negative. The bigger one now has like a couple inch tail coming from it...This one is in his groin line...He also has a new one lower on his leg. He thought his hip was out and went to the chiropractor, too....It s been about a week. If you would like, I could take a picture of the big mark.
