What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling Around The Ankles?

I have been suffering from awful ankle and leg pain. Been checked by dr and was given prednisone and pain meds. Its been a few weeks and I am not any better. I was told either gout or tendinitis, yet I have very minimal swelling and high blood pressure.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are many reasons for swelling around the ankle like an ankle sprain, gout, arthritis, bursitis, flat foot, or tenosynovitis.

So first try to conclude the diagnosis. Check for your uric acid level and RA (rheumatoid arthritis) factor and X-ray of the respective area.

I advise you to take tablet Hifenac D for 3 days for your pain relief and in meanwhile your results will be in your hand and you can start the medicines for respective diagnosis.
