What Causes Severe Pain And Swelling Around The Kidney Area?
As slam u Alaikum I m pregnant of 6 month .I have severe pain in right kidney ,my local doctor tell me it s swelling ,she advised me 3 drips by after that I can not feel comfortable, what should I do now,is intake of water is suitable for me to release pain....?

Hi,
Swelling of the kidney may be due to some infection or mild obstruction. We advise patients to take plenty of fluids, if the kidney functions are normal, as it may cause small stones to pass. However, only fluids may not be sufficient for pain relief. Unfortunately, we cannot give you strong pain killers in pregnancy, I would advise paracetamol for pain as they are pretty safe in pregnancy.
