What Causes Severe Pain And Weakness In The Left Arm?

I have a sharp stabbing in my left shoulder and have experienced weakness in my left arm. It began 10 days ago. I woke up early in the morning with discomfort and had indigestion as well. I originally thought I had a pinched nerve but now I have no idea what is going on. I can t lay down to sleep as it puts more pressure on the shoulder blade. I sleep in a chair sitting up, when walking I experience no pain at all. Any suggestions where to start and what kind of physician I should see?

Possible causes of such pain in shoulder with weakness in arm may include:
-Cervical/shoulder osteoarthritis
-Cervical nevralgia/pinched nerve.The neck is a region with many nerves and a compression or irritation on any will be felt in all parts to which the nerve leads.Tingling/weakness are typical symptoms of such nerve disorders.
-Stress/strain
I will suggest you try the following:
*Rest well
*Eat well and healthy
*Take a pain drug like aceclofenac and if pain not bearable, you add tramadol to it
*A myorelaxant like miorel
*Hire a Physiotherapist for massage
If pain persist, you see your Doctor for examination and other treatment options.
