What Causes Severe Pain And Weakness Post Injecting Cortisone In Hip?

yestrday at 2 i got a local anesthetic and cortisone injection in my hip. Since the local anesthetic worse off (after 2-3 hours) my hip has been feeling weak and very painful. This morning I have also noticed the hip that has been injected is significantly hotter than the other one.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain and weakness post injecting Cortisone in hip . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ankylosing spondylitis , bursitis , arthritis , legg calve perthes’ disease , tendinitis or sciatica . If it occur after cortisone injection then discuss it with your doctor .I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with nerve conduction test . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , methotrexate , infliximab or steroid injection along with physical therapy . For now take proper rest , apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
