What Causes Severe Pain Around Left Ear While Treating Sinusitis?
When my sinus syary acy=tung up, I get a horrible pain in and around the left ear, I can not touch that side of my head, the pain goes front to back. A hot compress helps until I am able to pull on the ear shell and listen for a pop. then it doesn't hurt. What is this and why is it only on the left side. Have asked a lot of Dr.s but no one has an answer.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain around left ear while treating sinusitis . Usually ear pain is experiencing by people suffering from sinusitis and these symptoms subside with completion of treatment of sinusitis .
The ear pain can also occur due to lymphadenopathy , ear infection or rupture ear drum. I would suggest you to ENT specialist again for proper evaluation of condition . Doctor may order CT scan for diagnosis or extend the course of antibiotics .
Doctor may also prescribe antibiotics . Taking steam will be very helpful. Till then give warm compresses to ear and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Doctor may also recommend tympanoplasty in case of rupture ear drum.
