What Causes Severe Pain Around The Ankles While Walking?

I have severe throbbing, shooting pains down my left leg around the shin on both sides of the bone. Throbbing pains around my ankles when I walk an Don t touch it for any reason tenderness. I ve been diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis on the right hip and there is a history from father and full sister of blood clots. Should I be concerned about the clotting? I am also and uncontrolled type 2 diabetic.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to muscle sprain.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Take proper rest.

In case of not getting relief you may require X Ray ankle after orthopedician consultation.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Hope I have answered your query and let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
