What Causes Severe Pain Behind The Ribs On The Right Side?
I had severe pain in my right side behind my ribs all day on Saturday. Nothing would relieve the pain. I finally found if I lay on my let side it would be better. On sunday I woke up pretty much pain free but felt like my lungs were bruised or something. Kinda tender when I took a deep breath. I slept all day Sunday and relaxed all day Monday. Monday evening as I started walking around at work my lower back started hurting especially when I took in a breath. I had cold and hot spells Saturday, sunday and some of Monday but seem to be done now. Any advice? Thanks!
I understand your concern Most probable diagnosis is Intercostals myalgia. Often the cause of intercostals myalgia is a viral infection of the muscles, other times it might be muscle spasm or even cramp, and the nature and duration of the pain should help you determine which of these is responsible. Maybe Saturday you have had a temperature, you may be suspected of a viral infection on the muscles. Intercostal myalgia can also resolve on its own but generally requires treatment. Non Steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs)- like ibuprofen or Advil helps to calm down the pain. Muscle Relaxants is prescribed for muscle spasm, like Flexeril. All the best.
