What Causes Severe Pain Behind The Sternum After Taking Prednisone?
I have almost finished a 5 week prednisone taper for a Crohns flare. Was just in ER for severe pain, upper center/right quadrant. Mostly behind tip of sternum. This started a couple weeks ago as a dull aching pain 20-30 minutes after I eat. Today, the pain was really bad. I was given a muscle relaxer in the ER. Which seemed to stop the pain (or it could have just stopped because of time passed, 3 hours) A CT scan revealed my intestinal inflammation had gone away. My ovarian cyst had shrunk from 6cm to 1cm. And showed no signs of gal stones. A gallbladder function test has been scheduled to see if it works properly. My question is this- Has anyone had a patient with gallbladder pain/issues while taking prednisone, which resolved itself after stopping prednisone?

Yeah Prednisolone is known to cause gastritis so it can cause such symptoms . When they did the scan was there any gastric erosion or ulcer ? If No then you don't need to worry if yes your physician will put you on proton pump inhibitors for longer time.
