What Causes Severe Pain Below The Patella Of Knee?
Only if I kneel and bear weight on my right knee where it makes contact with the floor ( below the patella and lateral to the inferior patellar ligament) do I recently experience pain. It feels as if there may be a small amount of fluid in the joint space, too?

Hello, welcome to HCM. With your history i feel it is bursitis.There will be minimum fluid filled spaces related to the joint. These are called bursa. These help in lubrication during leg movement around knee. sometimes there could infection of bursa which is called bursistis which cause pain in those movements wher that bursa is compressed. Kindly get one xray . It can be detected if there is lot of fluid collection. Go and take advice from orthopaedician. Take care
