What Causes Severe Pain Below The Right Knee?

I have been getting sciatica pain in my right rear to down below my knee. This doesn t bother me all day until I am sitting in the evening and laying down. I have had this for around 4 months. The pain wakes me up all night. I use aspercream and ibuprophen. But still wake every 1/2 hour to two hours all night in pain. I m wondering what is causing this.

General Surgeon 's  Response
The fact the the right lower limb sciatic pain is disturbing your sleep, there must be nerve compression at the lumbar area. An MRI of the lumbar vertebra would be required to diagnose any prolapsed inter vertebral disc causing nerve compression, and if severe, it should be removed by minimal access surgery. You should consult an Orthopedic or Neurosurgeon for the management.
