What Causes Severe Pain From The Sternum To The Navel?

My daughter is 20 and experiencing tearful pain. It is described as pain in an upside down T from just below her sternum to her belly button and also includes painful ache in her back on the right side around the waste area. She went to a small hospital last night and they did a urine sample, didn t know what was wrong, gave her an injected pain meds and sent her home.

Hi. As i can understand it can be a pain of gall bladder stones or inflammation. But can also be a pancreatitis pain as back is involved. Don't panic. Just get an ultrasound and c.t scan abdomen done, we will catch it with that. Till then take tab buscopan (hyoscine) whenever it pains
