Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What would cause pain in your chest and back/ Feels like someone sticking knife in my chest and coming out my back. Doctor done bloodwork, thought maybe gallbladder or pancreas, but no. Said next week he will order scan on my abdomen and pelvis, what does that have to do with pain in chest and back? Been going on for about 10 days now.
The acute pain in lower chest and upper back relates to underlying various problems as pancreas (stone or inflammation), gall bladder (stone or infection), ulcer (stomach or duodenum); various conditions associated with referred pain category of human physiology at the level from which the concerned somatic segment of the abdomen is innervated. A detailed scan of the abdomen and pelvis with or without an MRI or CT scan would be best need of diagnostic tools as per the expert comments of your clinician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
