Hello,
Severe pain in the top of the head is commonly due to
tension headache,
sleep deprivation, migraine, Reversible cerebral
vasoconstriction syndrome,
occipital neuralgia, cold stimulus headache, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT or GP. You will have to take a few blood tests and imaging (CT. MRI, X-Ray, EEG) to detect any trauma, tumor or other pathological damage that may be causing you symptoms.
Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & the severity of the clinical symptoms. You are suggested to cut on addictions if any, stay well hydrated, stay in comfortable dimly lighted room, avoid too much exposure to sunlight, take food in time, cut on oily junk food. You can take
acetaminophen or Naproxen, one SOS for relief. Take adequate sleep. Stay active.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
