What Causes Severe Pain In Ear With Swelling In Cheek And Neck?
My husband ear is hurting really bad. His cheek and neck is swollen. He told me he tried to unplug his ear by plugging his nose and blowing, he heard a wierd pop and thats when the pain started. That was last night and by this morning the sweling was there. He is in alot of pain.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that while trying to unplug the ears he has blown air by pincingbthe nostrils and the pressure if in excess might have ruptured the eardrum leading to pain in ear as well as swelling in face and neck.. There can also be severe infection and inflammation that is leading to swelling.. As of now he can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen and if there is very severe painTRAMADOL can be done.. You should also immediately consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopic,x Ray etc can help in diagnosis.. He can be advised Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and Oral and nasal decongestant..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
