Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I fell over a concrete step 2 months ago and busted my big toe open. It was badly sprained but I didn t go to a&e. However the past 6 weeks I m getting severe pain in my foot? Could this be because I damaged the foot as well as the toe? Could I have broken a bone? And how do I go about mending it?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in foot after falling . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like hypertension , vitamin B12 deficiency , kidney disease or venous insufficiency . But in your case the symptoms are due to injury . Keep your legs in hot water tub with Epsom salt for 15 minutes daily , lower your salt consumption and keep your legs elevated while lying down .I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or x-ray along with blood test and nerve conduction test . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , give plaster .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
