Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have terrible pains on the left side of my foot. I do labour work and am always wearing steel cap boots with insoles because I have flat feet. Four months ago I had a workplace injury whereby I ran the pallet jack over the right front of toe. I had completely flattened my soft tissues and had to recover for 2 weeks. But those pains on the left side of my foot hurts when I try to have it massaged. It feels like my bones is going to break when someone tries to massage it. What are your thoughts?
Hi, Thanks for contacting HCM. Pain on the outer part of the foot is commonly a tendon issue, specifically the Peroneus Brevis tendon. This tendon attaches into the base of one of the bones in the outer foot and can become inflamed and painful. This tendonitis can be very sore, and I suggest for my patients immobilization and anti-inflammatories as some of the options to reduce the inflammation. It is recommended to have an xray evaluation of the area to assess for any possible fracture that may be present. I hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
