I have been quite physically active over my lifetime. I am now 63. I have played hockey, lacrosse, competitive university wrestling, squash (20) years, now into curling and golf, these average 3 to 4 times per week. Last winter while curling, I noticed pain in my right hip, which seemed like a groin pull. after the curling season I started golf for my 3 to 4 times per week and I have always walk ed the 4 miles involved. However the walking became painful for my right groin and resulted in a limp and pinched nerve in my lower left back. I started some massage treatments this past fall, some short term relieve and then on to Physio therapy for three times a week on both the groin and nerve problem. With no great results my Physio Therapist suggested an X-ray on the hips. I did this and now I have arthritis in the right hip joint and there is bone to bone affect on the right and good space on the left hip. My massage therapist said he has had hip replacement surgery and he saw the X-rays and suggested I meet with my Dr. And have a recommendation for for hip replacement surgery. Does this seem the right course of action?
