What Causes Severe Pain In Left Arm Radiating Towards Shoulder?

Today I have had several shooting pains in my left arm mostly around the elbow area and towards the top of my arm but not the shoulder area. It feels like I can imagine a trapped nerve may feel like. I have been driving for around 5 hours today with a 2 hour break in between in a different car than I normally drive. Could it be the driving position causing the pain? I m worried. Thank you.
