What Causes Severe Pain In Left Buttocks Radiating Into Leg Inspite Of Taking Meloxicam?

Hi I have terrible pain that started in my left buttocks and now goes down my whole leg. Sometimes my foot feels abit numb and tingling. The pain is so bad at night it is stopping me sleeping and during the day making life hell. I am 33. My dr said she thought it was muscular and prescribed me meloxicam and said to take 8 Panadol to control the pain, this hasn t worked and so today I have to go for an ultrasound. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
You have been prescribed non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs to control the pain.
Usually pain not controlled by this drugs suggest of any nervous pathology.
i would advise
Get MRI of lumbar spine to rule out any nerve root compression.
consult your physician with reports and get medications according to it will help you a lot.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you
