General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Intense pain in left knee between patella and lateral cruciate ligament indicates soft tissue damage to severe extent. The flight journey of 4 months back period has nothing to do with the current episode as the venous thrombosis or embolism issues do not provoke such changes. It is best recommended to get an MRI of the knee joint of left side for further assistance and guidelines of cure.

Primary relief with following:
- Local application of heating pad
- Use of analgesic spray or ointment containing Linseed oil, Capsaicin, Diclofenac or Menthol
- oral intake of anti inflammatory medicines such as Etoricoxib, Ibuprofen or others
- Control of body weight

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
