What Causes Severe Pain In Left Knee While Sitting?

I have shooting pain from my left knee when I m sitting down, with my legs stretched out. I do have a Bakers cycst, but the pain shoots up the back of my thigh, again on sitting. And also, my heel is extremely very sore when I stand on it and also when walking for a short period of time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have a history of Baker's cyst you are suggested to get clinically examined to detect any complications causing discomfort, swelling and pain. Get it treated.

In the mean time you can take antacids and NSAIDs, one SOS when required for relieve. Other reason for severe pain in the thigh and left leg maybe due to sciatica, muscle strain, stress on the thigh muscles, tendonitis etc.

Get clinically examined by a Neurologist, get Nerve conduction tests and nerve biopsy done. Get the required Imaging tests also done. It can be due to neuropathy. Take vitamin B6, B12, vitamin E rich food or supplements.

Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. If obese you should do regular stretch exercises under a physiotherapist & maintain healthy weight.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
