What Causes Severe Pain In Leg At Night With Normal X-ray Post Injury?
I m a pitcher and was hit by a line drive. The ball hit the lateral aspect of my lower leg right above ankle. X-rays 5 days post injury were negative. I still have pain at the area, it even wakes me up at night. The NP I saw recommends ortho referral, I have a college scholarship for next year and am worried
The pain in lateral aspect of leg after trauma could be due to soft tissue injury. I suggest you to take a pain killer and hot fomentation for the pain. Any bone injury is ruled out by a normal X-ray.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
