What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Right Quadrant After A Fall?

I experienced a fall about two weeks ago. Slipped and fell backward hurting right side and lower back. Very stiff and sore for first week then developed severe pain in lower right quadrant. Went to dr who said most likely bruised rib/cartilage. Now am experiencing severe bloating and abdominal discomfort. I am 59 year a old female a about 5 4 and normally about 120 lbs but have gained a few lbs with this incident.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The fall backwards may not be linked to the bloating and abdominal discomfort that you are experiencing.
If you are using NSAIDs to help with the pain or have any problems with constipation due to pain in sitting then this may be a link.

Other causes would be:(1)reflux
(2)food intolerance
(3)celiac disease
(4)side effect of other medication
(5)use of gas producing foods such as carbonated drinks, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, beans, turnips

The use of reflux medications such as pepcid, zantac, nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix.
Even if there are no obvious symptoms of reflux, these meds would help with bloating.

I hope this helps
