What Causes Severe Pain In Mouth With A Hole Around The Mouth?

I ve had terrible pain in my mouth for about five days, but only one side (right side). It is now effecting my right ear (lots of gunk and it is also painful). I just have had a feel around in my mouth and I have found a hole. It is not in my cheek, but back past the molars, near my tonsils/throat.

Hello,

It looks like you have a cavity past the molars. The cavity is infected & causing you pain due to the spread of infection into the lymph nodes.

Get physically examined by a dentist. Do not take any tobacco products. Use hexidine or listerine mouth wash, gargle at least three times a day.

You can take Combiflam (Paracetamol & Ibuprofen), one sos when needed to get relieved from pain.

However, you need antibiotics. You may need filling of the cavity or removal of the affected teeth depending upon the severity of the infection.

If your tonsils are affected your dentist will refer you to an ENT.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
