Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In Neck And Back While On Cybord Treatment?
My husband is being treated for multiple myloesis and has begun the CyBorD treatment. He has had one chemo infusion and four shots of the Bor part. He takes steroids once a week, for three weeks now. My question is that he is in a lot of pain. His neck and back muscles are very painful. What is causing this? It has been like this for almost a week. We go to the oncologist Monday for his review/update.
* As per my clinical experience, the Cybord treatment consists of Cyclophosphamide, Bortezomib, Dexamethasone, used for killing cancer cells of Multiple myeloma and other disorders.
* The pain in neck and back while on therapy can be part of systemic inflammatory response via interleukins, side effects of chemotherapy as myalgia and others, low hemoglobin, lack of vitamins, minerals, proteins, anti oxidants, low immunity, uncontrolled blood sugar, others.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
