What Causes Severe Pain In Neck Radiating To Collar Bone?
Hi. My neck has been feeling sore for a couple of days. Today I was trying to massage it and I stretched my neck and then I heard a deep popping sound. At first it felt a little better, but then shortly after, it started to hurt. I have had acute ridiculous before on that side a few months ago, so I am wondering if this is the same thing or if it s worse. The pain also shoots up the side of my shoulder and little down my collar bone.
Hi, i did review your concern. the pain in the neck that you may be having can be due to multiple reasons ranging from osteoarthritis, disk herniation, rheumatoid arthritis or muscle sprain/ligament strain. The shooting pain down the collar bone and shoulder may be due to spinal cord or nerve root compression/irritation by these processes. What you need to do is consult a orthopaedic surgeon or a rheumatologist and get a xray done and may be then an MRI done of the local region. Also the doctor will perform some other special chests. Meanwhile I will recommend you to wear a cervical collar and do not move your neck rigorously. I hope this helps. hope you a healthy life ahead.thanks.
